Happy!

Hey again!

You might remember me talking about a film I watched called Flipped, last week? Anyway, I said that it was a film adaptation of a book and that I really wanted to read the book, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Until...I went on Amazon literally five minutes ago and managed to buy a copy of the book! However it said I won't get it until between the 9th of February and sometime in March. I'm just happy I got it!

Earlier I posted that I have been watching the Final Destination Films. So I bought the first one! That's all I had enough for because I now only have 35p left of the £45 worth of Amazon vouchers I got at Christmas. I spent it well! Luckily Final Destination is said to arrive on the 2nd of March and as I'm typing this I realise that is Sunday... NO POST ON SUNDAYS! (Harry Potter Reference) So I guess I'll be getting that on the 3rd instead...

Final Destination

Hi! 
Sorry it's been a while since I have posted anything. 

So I watched all the Final Destination films! They were quite good. The thing is, I'm a sick person... Rather than being grossed out like any normal person, I just laugh at the many deaths. Sick, right? They are just so comical that I can't help it! 

The films are classed as horror/thriller, but they are not scary at all...

Flipped

Hey!

Last night I watched this really nice film called Flipped. 

It's about this girl, Juli, and when Bryce moves into her street she falls hard for him at seven years old. Naturally, being a 7 year old boy, Bryce is not interested at all. The story follows them until they are 13 years old and despite being total opposites, their opinions of each other change. 

It sounds really cheesy, but it's such a good film! It is from both Juli and Bryce's perspective, which I think is really interesting because you get to find out what both of them are thinking. I've never seen a film like it. I enjoyed it so much, I watched it again today already! 

I looked it up and found out it was a film adaptation of the book and if you know me, you'll know i'm a book worm. So I went on my kindle to see if I could download it, only to find out it is not available on the kindle store! I am really disappointed because the film was so good. 

I am determined to read this book!

Just Mumford and Sons

Hey!

I think I mentioned in earlier posts that I have an addiction to a band called Mumford and Sons, and listen to their album Sigh No More at last once a day?(I'm listening to it right now!) Anyway, I've been asking a few people if they like Mumford and Sons and all of them have gone "Who?" 

My reaction in return was "Seriously?". They are quite big now! (Hint: They sing the song I Will Wait!) Only one of my friends know who they are, and that's Taryn. She had the exact same reaction as me. 

If you like quite folky music, Mumford and Sons are exactly that. They are amazing!

Hey!

Right now I am trying to find a website to do my biology homework, but so far I am unsuccessful! I think I might just go and see my teacher about it tomorrow...

I'm also listening to Mumford and Sons. I'm listening to their album, 'Sigh No More', and it's on one of my favourite songs of theirs (I Gave You All)! I absolutely love Mumford and Sons and I'm basically going through a phase where I will listen to 'Sigh No More' once every day. (That and '+' by the amazing Ed Sheeran!)

More Sledging!

Hi!

It was great to have today off school. I hate Mondays! 

I was hoping to get a lie in (9.30 is just too early!) but I was woken up by my mum telling me my friend and her brother were coming round. 

We went sledging which was really fun. We went down the hill on our tummies and we done all sorts of stuff. Maia (my friend that came round) done many dramatic tumbles off her sledge, which was very entertaining. My little brother, Ethan (He's one), went sledging for the first time. I think he enjoyed it but he's not too sure about the snow.

After sledging Maia and I enjoyed a nice hot chocolate whilst watching The Big Bang Theory. Then we started watching these funny guys on YouTube called Bertie Gilbert, Dom Herman Day, Roy Arvatz and Harrison Webb. 

So yeah, that's all I've done today!  (That and Homework, but it's gotta be done, right?)

Now I'm watching X-Men: First class (Good film by the way!).

No School Tomorrow

It's official! School is not on tomorrow due to the bad weather! I have been hoping for this all day, so yay! Alarm for tomorrow=Off! I'm gonna build a snowman tomorrow!

Or should I build an army of snowmen since I have the whole day off? That would be pretty awesome!

More Snow

It has not stopped snowing all day! (Not that I am complaining!) 

So today, I went sledging with my dad, brother and my brothers friend. We went to this place called Toft Hill, which is a massive hill and a great place for sledging! The only bad thing about it was having to walk back up the hill after sledging down. At one point, I went over a ramp and went flying. So yeah, that was fun!

The weather has gotten so bad, schools are shutting down...except mine! Typical... If the school doesn't close, I have a feeling I'll be on my own. Whilst I'm within walking distance, Taryn and Chloe live on the other side of town and have to get the bus. So I'm really hoping school will close. Even if it doesn't close, my mum is considering keeping me home anyway, so it's not too bad. I think there is a good chance it could close, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I think that's all I have to say...

Obsessions

We all have our obsessions, right? 

Some of mine include Harry Potter, Ed Sheeran and The Big Bang Theory.

My friends Taryn and Chloe have loads of obsessions too! Taryn LOVES Friends (The TV show), Ed Sheeran, her action films and chick-flicks, Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Taylor Lautner and much more. Chloe is obsessed with a YouTuber called Tobuscus, The Vampire Diaries and Russell Howards Good News.

In the summer holidays, just before we went back to school, someone who I thought was a good friend and at least respected my obsessions started an argument with me because I was posting Harry Potter stuff on my Facebook page. I'll admit, I was posting tonnes of HP things, but it's my page and I have the right to post what I want without anyone, never mind my friends, having a go at me about it. I'm not going to say who it was that started arguing with me about my "obsession", but they really upset me. I went back to school a few days later and avoided this person completely, and this person acted like nothing happened. Now we are talking, but this person still acts as if nothing happened. Anyway, I couldn't stop thinking about what this person said to me and it made me feel bad about myself. 

However, I came to realise that it's our obsessions that make us who we are. What we like defines our personalities in a way and tells people more about the person we are. Without our obsessions, we'd be pretty damn boring.

Chloe likes Tobuscus, who Taryn and I don't find entertaining, but we respect that she likes him and that's her opinion. We would never make her feel bad for liking him.

What I really want to say is that you shouldn't change what you like just because other people don't like it. We don't live to please other people. Stay true to yourself and never let people tell you that you are pathetic or stupid for liking something. Embrace your obsessions, because they are what make you, you!

Rebel Wilson

Hi!

So basically, in the last few months I have came to like this very funny actress called Rebel Wilson. I've only seen her in two films(Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect) but what I've seen of her I think is really funny!

The first time I saw her in a film was Bridesmaids (Great film if you like a good comedy/ chick-flick) and she doesn't really have a big role in it. She plays Annie's (Main Character) room mate's sister. (Annie's room mate is played by Matt Lucas- Matt Lucas and Rebel Wilson actually look like they could be related!?) Anyway, Rebel Wilson has a few funny lines in this film, but not much, which is kind of disappointing...

She's hilarious!

In Pitch Perfect (Which is out NOW and I strongly reccamend you go and see it, it is such a good film!)  Rebel plays "Fat Amy" (Fat Patricia). If you are wondering why she is called Fat Amy, she says in the film "So bitches don't do it behind my back". Fat Amy is one of the main characters in Pitch Perfect and I think one of, if not, the best! Rebel Wilson pretty much steals the show. She plays the best character, she has the best lines. Taryn and I could not stop laughing! 

Some of Fat Amy's best lines in the film include...

• (Bumper: I have a feeling we should kiss. Is that a good feeling or an incorrect feeling?)
  Well...sometimes I have a feeling I can do crystal meth but then I think, mmm... better not.
• I'm gonna kill him! I'm gonna finish him like a cheesecake! 
• I can sing, but I am also good at modern dance, olden dance and mermaid dancing, which is a little different. You usually start on the ground. It is a lot of floor work.

That's a few of Fat Amy's funny quotes in Pitch Perfect. Go see it now, it's out in cinema (Hopefully near you, if not, unlucky! You are missing a great film and you should probably get to the nearest cinema that is showing it because it will be worth it!)

Snow and Confusion!

Okay, I really, really hope I get the hang of this soon because I've spent all afternoon editing my page and it's basically a whole load of crap!

Anyway, where I live it is SNOWING! Honestly, everybody acts as if they have never seen snow before (including me). It snows at least once every year and it seems to excite everyone more and more, even if we are in year 9.

My best friend, Taryn, was lucky enough to get called out and taken home halfway through second lesson today at school! Luckily, the school decided to shut at 12:30. The walk home was so funny with my other best friend, Chloe, and Saraid and Harrison. I fell over twice (because that's just how clumsy I am) and I kept losing my shoes in the snow! At one point, me and Chloe were walking in front of Harrison and Saraid and Harrison was kicking snow at me, so I decided to turn around and kick snow back at him. Basically, instead of kicking just snow at him, my shoe went flying and hit him too! (Personally, I think that's kind of better than snow!)

The only downside about the snow was that by the time I got home, my feet were like blocks of ice. They got so numb, I had to drag my feet through the snow and I even lost my shoe a few times. I didn't  even notice until I looked down at my feet!  

Hopefully I'm gonna go sledging tomorrow, so that should be a laugh. As long as I don't freeze again.

Hi? I honestly don't know how to start a blog! Embarrassing...

Anyway, hi I'm Rachel and welcome to my blog! (Cheesy much?) 
Basically, I was enjoying my friend Chloe's blog (http://curlyfri3s.blogspot.co.uk/?spref=fb <-- Read, its a great blog, written by a great person ;)) and I thought "Why don't I start a blog!?"
